Folks,
I need to exchange some money. I know that I could simply go to a bank outlets to exchange money, but as we know the rate could from private operators could be better than banks.
Does anyone know any place in Buriram where I could get better rate than bank?
Cheers

Thanks Antonio. I thought that may be the case, but wanted to confirm with locals.
Is there anything in Korat?

Kasikorn is on same boat too. Funny thing is that 4 years ago we only had Kasikorn bank and Krung Thai in Prakhonchai. This has changed slightly by opening of 2 more banks now.
I could not find Thanachart bank in Buriram as they seem to be 2nd best.

Bangkok Bank is offering 44.64=1 Pound.
Not great but going in the right direction.
Best it's been for months.

Yes. You PoMs are lucky that way. Our Aussie has plummeted by 1.5-2 bahts in last 6 months.

The Pound has plummeted 30 Baht over the last 2/3 years, wouldn't call that lucky.

Yes. Baht has been getting stronger for quite some time and will remain same for coming times till Bank of Thailand wakes up to realise it's impact on export and rise of industrialisation in neighbouring countries like Vietnam. On other side, China has started to export cheaper products and the rail line will further expedite that. This will make trading to be a better opportunity than production. 3 factors put together will change Thailand's industrial and business landscape.

Yes i agree maybe one day Thailand will realize it needs to get up off it's lazy ass and join in with the rest of the world, when that day will come nobody knows.

Super rich in Bangkok best rates so far. My advise is to exchange only small amount of money if you plan to go to Bangkok in case it's a very big amount of money. Another point you should think of is the risk of going out from super rich with big punt of cash. Little bit risky..

Yes. Superrich gives best rates in Thailand.
There is Kasikorn bank right opposite Superrish. So risk is in taking large amount there rather than taking large amount of baht to bank.
BTW. Did you know that there are 2 companies with name Superrich? Both of these operate right next to each other and offer same rate:
1. Old Super Rich with green banner - http://www.superrichthailand.com/new/index.html
2. New Super Rich with orange banner - http://www.superrich1965.com/

The main branch in on Palundmuang Rd just north of Tanee (on Buriram map it says Siam City bank), or there is a branch in Big C.

I beg to differ on saying that they offer the same rate , superrich green today 30.05 against AUD superrich 1965 29.90 against AUD, I changed $25000 a few weeks ago , green nearly always beats orange, I hear also there is a new money changer in bkk, right over the road from green and 1965 , but have not used them as yet.
