Title: DTAC Internet Sim
Post by: Lourens on May 05, 2009, 12:18:47 PM
I bought a DTAC Internet SIM the other day and am using it on my laptop computer together with a Bandlux USB Modem. I get connection speeds of between 236.Kbps and 380 Kbps. There are several packages available depending on how often and for what purpose you use the Internet. I opted for the 999 Baht unlimited option. All packages are post paid and needs registration with DTAC. This is a good idea for when you live out in the sticks where no ADSL connections are available. I just thought you might like to know.

good to know.
so how you connect to the internet? through your mobile?
unlimited package 999 B/month?

How about the availability of the connection? (How often your internet connection is "down"?)

If you read my original post carefully, you will see that I use a Bandluxe USB Modem. You could use your mobile to connect too provided that your mobile has that facility to act as a modem. Yes, 999 Baht per month for unlimited hours. The other packages are 149 Baht/month for 40 hours or 399 Baht/month for 140 hours. Connection is EDGE/GPRS. 3G connections will be available later this year (we hope). So far, my internet connection has never been off or 'down'. I connect once and stay connected for long periods at a time as my wife also uses it. So long as you have a good mobile signal, there is no reason why it should disconnect. It only gets a little slower at certain times (from 380 to 230 Kbps). I'm very happy (and I don't even work for DTAC!)
