Title: Farming Buriram and Income
Post by: Khun Tony on April 26, 2009, 11:57:06 AM
Hi,

I keep reading about people who intend to buy some land and do some farming!

I'm just wondering what kind of farming, and how much land do you need?  I know it depends on the farming venture undertaken, but what kind of farming is undertaken in Buriram other than rice growing.

Is there a quick cash crop that can be grown.  Something that is fairly reliable.

What type of farming ventures can be undertaken with minimal outlay?

What is the number of rai you need to purchase to undertake the farming venture.
And how much income would you expect to earn per rai held?

I know there are no guarantees in life but if there is something you can do to quicken the move the LOS it's worth considering.

The best thing to do to quicken a move to Thailand is .........

make money elsewhere and then spend it wisely in Thailand, bearing in mind who's name the said purchases will be in.  fighting1

Sorry to sound negative as I am very happy here, but that is what I see as honest advice.  character2

Yeah I was fearing that much!  It sounds like I'm going to have to work in Aus for at least another 3 to 5 years before I can retire to Thailand.

According to the Ministry of Labor's website, one of the careers that farang are absolutely forbidden to engage in is farming.
