Published: 2/01/2013 at 10:52 AM Online news:
A total 315 were killed and 3,116 injured in road accidents throughout the country over the first six days of the “seven dangerous days”, Anusorn Kaewkangwan, deputy director general of the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department, said on Wednesday.
Nakhon Pathom province had the highest number of deaths with 16. Chiang Mai recorded the highest number of road accidents at 123, said Mr Anusorn.
Trat is the only province that had no reports of road accidents or casualties. The main causes of accidents were drunk driving and speeding, he added.
The so-called “seven dangerous days” road safety campaign over the New Year festivity began on Dec 27 and will end today.
