See the Crane in Sanam Bin Reservoir, Prakhon Chai Buriram
This season is the time which many kinds of bird flying to Thailand runaway from the coldness in Siberia.
Sanam Bin Reservoir in Prakhon Chai is one of their favorite place.
The land of Reservoir is 3,500 Rai (Wetlands 1,600 Rai)
Since beginning of December, there are about 200 kinds of bird.
Good choice to get relax there specially in the evening with sunset.
There are cameras and binoculars for free and the officer will take care of you.

I was so happy to see cranes out in the rice fields and not so happy when my son in law came home with one to eat. Didn't say anything, he eats frogs, cow shit, blood, and bile and small birds as well.

Just at the end of my road, yet haven't visited for around 10 years. Must correct that! However get a fair assortment of birds in my garden most mornings!

It is run down and not used much, but there are some places to stay. I was not impressed on my visit there.

That no doubt explains why I haven't been there for 10 years!

It used to be a nice place to go, but now much of it is fenced off, and the birds are on the reservoir and not in the park.
The accommodation is largely used as short-time overnight rooms for trysts with a romantic background by the local Thais.

There are no wild cranes in Buriram or Surin, not real ones, anyway. The white birds are egrets, and the big black and white ones which have been around these few months are storks, Asian Openbills. The Sarus Crane has been bred in captivity somewhere in Buriram, though, and the birds are free-flying (grey, with a red patch on the head).
