I am planning on moving to Thailand in a couple of years. I was wondering if there is a source of large sized shoes anywhere in Thailand. Size 13 (United States sizing)? I am guessing that there is not, so I will probably be bringing a couple of pairs with me when I come. Most of the time I will be wearing rubber flip flops (or rubber slippers in Hawaii), but I think finding even these in a large size will be an issue. Just trying to see if there is somewhere to buy large size shoes.

Why not ask that question in a couple of years time then.

I guess you would launch Size 13's,,,,plenty of good boatbuilders here in LOS

Here in the USA size 13 shoes fall into the medium size category, and extra large condoms are for those not very well endowed.

Didn't realize there was such a problem toward Americans in Buriram Province. Will try to remember to 'duck' in the future.

I take it all with a grain of salt. When the British Empire ruled the world they were hated, it was probably the same with Rome. Being the richest, most militarily powerful nation the world has ever seen is bound to evoke feelings of inadequacy and envy from some. It is understandable.

'Amazon' Coffee Shops seem to be the American 'meeting' points!!

Very interesting and powerful stuff, but don't be fooled guys; it is after all, just a clip from a TV show.
The dialogue (which would have been just as effective without the gratuitous swearing) and it's apparent effect on the young audience was scripted and stage managed down to the minutest detail.
I would have been impressed, had it been real.
Sadly, there are those who will quote it as gospel, convinced it's true simply because it was on the internet.

Tugs at the heart strings. Too bad it is just a TV show about a newsroom (although a good one). The answer is not to tax everyone like Europe so that the U.S. can go bankrupt like Europe. All of the western countries have problems (Europe and US/Canada) if they were so great there would be less foreigners retiring to Thailand and more retiring at home. Don't worry though, with the course the US is now on it will be just like Europe in 10-20 years (over taxed, weak militarily, and bankrupt). Just give us some time, Europe had a large head start on us on the road to socialism.

It did not hurt, and there is nothing to walk off. There are always two ways at looking a country (any country). You can emphasize and highlight some negative aspects (fairly common on this site) of a country, or you can look at the positive aspects of a country. I prefer to practice the latter.

All negative only negative.
Find it hard to see any positive aspects what so ever.

Absolute garbage Dimple Joe i thought you would have had more intelligence.
Why on earth would you want to listen to that racist verbal diarrhea.
This man should be locked up for inciting racial hatred.
-
Just listen to the diarrhea coming out of this racist mouth.
I can't believe anyone would be impressed with this idiot.
If people like this ever do get into power God help the world.

This website states that all nationalities are welcome. After reading MuslimTonys diatribes, it appears to be an error in mission statement.
-
There is absolutely nothing racist at all in what he says.
If he spoke about Arabs, Indians, Asians, Negroes etc., that would be racist and I would not support his views.
He is in fact talking about Islam, which is a religion.
Look it up, there is a big difference.
What exactly did he say that you disagree with Tony?
Thanks for the additional clip by the way, I agree with that too.
Despite what the scrolling words put over your clip say, he never once suggested deporting anyone, nor did he suggest that those with opposing views are loons who hate America.
You really should read post #523 in "Ring any Bells?"

If you can't see this man is racist then their is nothing more to say.
How you or anyone else can support the views or this cretin is beyond belief.

I have to agree with Dimple Joe, nothing racist about the clip. Does Tony think that stoning someone is OK? Or is killing someone because he is not of a certain religion OK? The vast majority of Mulsims want nothing more than to work hard and raise their family the best that they can.
When I move to Thailand I do not expect Thailand to change to what I want it to be. I think that would be very foolish. Save the racist labels for people that are actually racists. You can disagree with someones views and opinions without name calling, or calling someone a racist when (from your video clips) they are not.
Didn't this thread start by me asking about the availability of large shoes in Buriram?

i am sure that Pat Condell would have trouble finding big shoes in Buriram..........
I like Pat Condell because he is not racist. He is a 'non-religionist' pointing out, most eloquently, the stupidity of many aspects of religion and highlighting how original teachings have been warped and twisted by individuals who are only concerned with self-interest.
He does not just focus on Islam - it just happens that Islam provides more fuel for his observations. Roman Catholics, Jews, Christians have all come in for criticism.

Why not become a practising monk for a few months, and then you wont need shoes.
And walking will be your daily meditation :)

Great idea, plus you forgot to mention the free room and board. This would be a great suggestion for the "how cheap can I live in Thailand" threads.
-
Spot on, Ahab!!!
Then you too could drive around in the latest Toyota Vigo or Fortuner bike038
-
I opened this ancient topic with the ambitious hope of finding some large shoes in Buriram, as per Ahab's original post.
I've just read the greatest load of "off topic" drivel. 36 posts. 3 pages of rubbish. Not a single post came close to answering Ahab's simple original enquiry. How the heck can a harmless enquiry about shoes transform so quickly into such a spiteful mudslinging debate between nationalities ?
Maybe "shoes" is one of those sleeper words that really stirs peoples' emotions ??
Where the hell was Moderator ? Apparently asleep at the wheel somewhere.
So, at the risk of inciting WW3 in Buriram again .... may I humbly ask
Where does one buy shoes larger than Thai 45 ?

MODERATOR!!! HELLO??? ARE YOU THERE???
For larger sized shoes, I found a nice pair of good fitting shoes at a small dealer down by the bus station. It was one of those places that sell camouflage pants and jackets and all manner of leather stuff and boots. They had a size 52 shoe for a friend and the guy even offered to order from BKK if needed. Mine was a size 48 handmade suede leather shoe with rubber soles and laces. Very comfortable at 750 Baht. You need to walk around a bit to find the place but it is easy to spot.
