Well that's good news ~~~~but it is feast or famine, I see it is a daily flight!    Now I can 't help thinking that they will soon pull the flight again as there is insufficient demand to warrant a daily flight to Buriram.

Time will tell but I suppose it is up to us to use it or loose it, but I can't help thinking 3 days a week would have been more viable.

Looking at the flight schedules it seems Buriram to BKK is daily but BKK to Buriram is only three times a week....

Not sure how this will work, perhaps four days they will pop in on the Ubon or Chiang Mai flights to BKK.

Or maybe, it's just not been thought through - time will tell.

DJ

Time will indeed tell ~~~ I have just tried to book a flight BFV - BKK  (DD9609) and it is only possible to book on Friday, Sunday and Wednesday despite what the published schedule says.

Still I think this is far more realistic with the load factors they would hope to achieve.

FYI 1 way prices BFV - BKK as follows

Nok Eco          i.e Riff Raff class     15kgs      Baht 1,990.00 all in

Nok Flexi         free changes           20kgs             2,690.00 all in

Nok Plus         i.e.  Toffs                 30kgs              not yet available
This includes free changes, a seat at the front of the plane, a snack and a newspaper!

It is a Saab 340 and departs BFV 13.35 Arrives Don Mueang  14.40

Well I have now booked a riff raff class ticket on tinternet, but not without problems.

After filling out all the details on the PC, when it came to actually paying for it the system just would not process the payment ~~ just nothing happened.  buttslap Which is unfortunate as I reckon the best deal is Nok Eco with an additional 5kg allowance for Baht 2,097 all in.

I was however able to book the ticket on my IPad with no issues however it did not give me the option to purchase the extra 5kg baggage allowance. So Baht1,990 + whatever I will be screwed for at the airport if over 15kg baggage.

I hope Nok Air is successful.  Flying to Bangkok is a lot easier than driving.

But how has Buriram Airport remained open with almost no flight in and out?

Hi urleft

Apart from the Thai Regional Airlines twice weekly flights the airport does have other random movements. I have seen small biz jets there ( Thailand Aeronautical Radio)  as well as cloud seeding aircraft.

Buriram United also have the odd charter flight (Air Asia) out of the airport.

Also the Crown Prince uses Buriram for touch and go landings presumably to keep his licence current. I find this amusing as the name implies he never actually stops. But this does not stop shed loads of Satuk government staff donning their best outfits and being in attendance  cheergirl cheergirl cheergirl complete with flowers especially for the occasion as well as enough bowls of fruit to feed an army!  TIT smilenod
