Title: Thai Language Teacher in Buriram Town?
Post by: BambooJake on September 25, 2011, 09:59:59 PM
Hello there, just arrived in the area after being away for a year and half, must say it feels good to be back; Si Kiao mak mak. Anywho, I'm supposed to be taking a Thai Language course here in TH as a part of my international studies for my Uni back home. I was going to have to take courses either in Chiang Mai, which is a great place but too far up there, or in Pattaya. After spending the last couple of days down there, I'd dread to live there again seeing how it's gotten a bit out of control. So, my wife and I are having a great time being back here with the family and I was thinking that if I could find a teacher or a program of some sort, I'd definitely try to stick around here. Not sure if this topic has been covered yet, but thought I'd throw it out there.

Oh, and I'm going to check out this football game on Tuesday, see what all the fuss is about with the Buriram PEA. The stadium looks pretty nice!

haha, that goes to show ya that if you want to get a straight answer around here, you check yourself by going to Buriramexpats.com! Thanks Candy. I think I'll move the conversation over to the Football forum you started seeing how this post was aimed at getting info on Thai lessons. To conclude, I think I'm going to go spend 6 weeks in Chiang Mai to get my hours for my university back home.

I'd guess that just a teacher wouldn't be enough, seeing as you're looking for UNI credits? I do know a couple of
(Thai) people in Buriram that have excellent (well, for Thais at least...) English skills, but my guess would be that
for actual Thai classes you'd have to go to Khon Kaen or Khorat.

Thanks for the reply, and advice. I really just needed something where I could get some kind of letter or certificate to show proof I studied Thai while here; it's a study abroad type of deal with my International Studies Department. But Yeah, I'll be heading up to Chiang Mai to take a 6 week class through AUA, they're pretty legit.
