Title: mobile phone coverage
Post by: davu on September 12, 2011, 01:39:51 PM
Hi, Newbie here: I know you guys love silly questions, so here goes. I will be visiting Buriram December/ January and was wondering about my mobile phone. Can I just take an old phone and simply buy a Sim card? If so, with which provider? I plan to travel around Thailand during this time. Thanks

You can do it with your old mobile phone in case its not locked (some mobile phone companies abroad did it in the past, I think it is not done today anymore).

In case its locked you can go to some phone shop and some of them know how to unlock your mobile phone to be able to accept Thai Sim card.

Popular mobile phone companies in Thailand:
12call, Dtac, any phone shop and '7-11' stores are selling Sim cards as well.
Good luck. :) sawadi
