Hi folks Got some really good input from my last post about getting my money from UK to Thailand so thought I would throw another question at you. Please bare in mind that I am a NEWBIE to the region and at the moment sat in UK waiting for my Visa and flight back to Thailand . I only had a couple of days at my girls house before returning to UK but had enjoyed WIFI at my Jomtiem condo. I arrived in Sarakham to NO SIGNAL> Can anyone tell me the best way to get on line with my laptop? At the moment my girl has no telephone line to the house but is not totally in the sticks. Very close to civilisation and the University. She has a satellite TV but I cannot see anywhere at the box to put a USB plug.Would a dongle work? Which is the way to go ? Please HELP.Thanks Dave Nick

Dtac NetSim might be the answer for you.
Cost is not high and if you have phone signal it should work there.
I get reports from people in some areas it works just fine, others less, but I think you should try as the modem cost is not high. sawadi

Buy a GPRS modem then choose your internet provider,,,,,,,I personally use 1-2 Call.as I consider DtAC pretty poor
Cost is 535baht for 250hrs per month

I use 12call and use my Nokia phone as a modem, download a PC suite to suit your phone ( If it can be connected to your PC or buy a dongle and a sim card ) and dial *138.......695 Baht a month for unlimited usage...100 baht for 20 hours,200 baht for 50 hours ,plus other options.

The 695 unlimited option only seems available when using certain mobiles as your modem, when using a gprs device(dongle)it is 1070 per month on AIS

I sometimes take my sim out the phone and put it in a dongle and it works fine ...still 695 unlimited !!!
