Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has any info on getting insurance for a Thai to visit a foreign country. Just that looking to bring g/f to my home for a visit and most insurance companies here in Britain cater for us traveling abroad not visa versa!
Many thanks

Hi Marauding Scot,
Most (if not all) travel agencies in Thailand will sell you health insurance for your g/f. I bought 3 months' worth of health insurance for my wife the first couple of times she came over to Europe (from DTC travel on Sukhumvit soi 18 -- the general manager is a personal friend of mine, I can send you his contact details in a pm, if you like, and you can contact him on my behalf). In any case, you will need to show proof of insurance before the British embassy will issue your g/f with a visa.
Hope this helps.

Check out this company located in the UK and cater for Thai in England, I think they might provide the best solution for you if you want to make all the arrangements of the insurance while you are there. sawadi

stop1 AH HA the old catch22 situation, you need to purchase insurance prior to visa being issued but how do you know that visa will be issued! So you spend money on an insurance policy you MAY not need! As visa maybe turned down for another reason. its like you must produce evidence of retun flight! but you gonna pay money to book a flight and then visa not issued?
mmmm happy to buy these things when visa is issued snow1

Hi Stan
I managed to recently get a visa for my stepson without having to produce any proof of insurance. Also in the past when I tried to buy a ticket for the boss lady they (Thai aws) would not issue one without a visa having been issued.
However that was a while ago.

No you do not The wife came on a VV to the UK last year. I did not purchase flight or Travel insurance until the visa was granted. Her flight was booked through http://www.saveflights.com/ (http://www.saveflights.com/). also the travel insurance, I think the travel insurance company was these http://www.e-insurethailand.com/lmg-safe.htm (http://www.e-insurethailand.com/lmg-safe.htm).
