Which hotel is the best to stay in Korat?

Budget limits: 300-500 Baht/night.

*Have to be clean, modern and in the center of town.

I assume you are talking about "sean sabai". if so. no thanks, not for me.
*The place is clean and nice, but the place feeling is not like a hotel but getting into a private house of the owners.

A short review.
I have stayed in the Rich hotel / Boss hotel.
*See rooms pictures + map in the file attached.

I can't recommend on this hotel because as I said, I wanted modern but this hotel is anything but modern.
Old style furnitures, red carpet 70's nuvorish style, "hot" water, old wood, etc.

Cost: 500 baht a night.
*I could have taken a room for 400 Baht but with no windows (NO WAY!) confused2
Stayed there just because there was heavy rain and storm that day, tired and couldn't drive to search another option.

With a budget like that you are somewhat limited.

I recently stayed at the Korat Resort (actually close to Chokchai) - very pleasant, 2,000 baht for a deluxe room.

Also stayed at a place that is part of a snooker hall, approx one soi behind Boss Hotel. VIP room 1,500, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, lounge, huge bathroom.

Has anyone ever stayed at the "Best Hotel" โรงแรมเบสท์โฮเต็ล ?
I don't have a choice of hotel on this trip, so I'm just curious what to expect. It's on highway 304 across the road from the airstrip. 14°55'16.31"N, 102° 3'43.00"E
I tired searching for a web site but can't find anything. Thank you!

There are always plenty of vehicles there at weekends which is maybe a good pointer

What about V-One Hotel? looks like a VERY nice and MODERN hotel in reasonable prices.

From my experience in Korat, it look like the best option on these rates (Up to 1000 Baht/night).

*Location opposite "MARKO", not far from bus station and relatively in the center of Korat city.

Sounds like a different place Admin. Sabai Hotel is in the road directly behind Makro. I stayed there again last week with wife and another couple, still great and could see no changes to the place other than a new additional big hotel building going up behind the present one. Could see no changes in service and facilities provided, even though Nookie says its changed hands.

At 850b for B&B our guests who had never been to Korat before, thought it was a fantastic place.

Ok, just to make things more clear, there is "San Sabai" and there is "Sabai" hotel also:

See information below:

Sabai hotel Nakhon Ratchasima

Address: 1 Moo 6 Murnvai District, Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat).

Tel: 044 295999, 089 9499848 ; Fax 044 295122

Email: sabaihotelkorat@hotmail.com

Website: http://www.sabaihotelkorat.com (http://www.sabaihotelkorat.com)

This hotel is located on a secondary road in the northern outskirts of town, a little bit off the crossroads between Mitthapap and Chang Phuak Rd, just behind Makro wholesale store. It is not far from Pegaus hotel. They call themselves a "resort hotel". It is separated from the road by a wide parking lot with abundant vegetation, and the area is certainly a quiet one.

They have rooms in three price ranges: standard for 850, deluxe for 1,700 and suites for 2,200 Baht a night (July 2009). Prices include breakfast for two. All rooms have A/C, cable TV and fridge. Deluxe rooms have also minibar and free Wi/Fi. Booking in advance is recommended.

This hotel includes massage area called Relax Day, in a separate building on the northern side of the parking lot. Another advantage about this hotel is that The Ram pub and restaurant, popular among Korat's foreign community, is located just outside it, on the main road.

San Sabai House HOTEL

Address: 335 Suranaree Rd, Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat).

Tel: 044 255144 ; 081 5473066

Email: sansabaikorat@yahoo.com

Website: http://www.sansabai-korat.com (http://www.sansabai-korat.com)

San Sabai House is a small hotel located in the center of the city, near George and Dragon, near the old bus station (bus station no.1), and adjacent to another budget hotel: Tokyo Mansion. It's a friendly place with clean and cheap rooms. You will pay about 500 baht for a neat air conditioning room. You can also rent per month, should you wish.
