Domestic vehicles sales surged by 57.7 percent year-on-year in February of this year, Toyota Motor (Thailand) reported on Monday.

A total of 54,175 commercial and passengers vehicles were sold in February, the largest increase in the past seven years, and the sixth straight month of gains for the automobile industry.

Sales of vehicles in March are expected to continue to grow despite political rallies which could erode consumer confidence," Toyota Motor (Thailand) said.

Not sure if someone was pulling my leg or not,  but they maintain that motor vehicle sales are up because some head honcho monk said 2010 was a good year to buy a car!
