First dust-free road opened

Transport Minister Sohpon Zarum on Saturday presided over a function to open the country’s first dust-free road in Buri Ram’s Lamplaimas district.

The construction cost of the 34 kilometers-long road linking between Baan Salaengphan and Baan Nong Nam Khun was 14 million baht.

The dust-free road is part of the Thai Khem Kaeng (Strong Thailand) stimulus scheme of the government.

The Ministry of Transport plans to build more than 150,000 kilometers dust-free roads nationwide.

Never mind 'dust free 'roads,,,,shouldn't the priority be just to get normal roads up to a decent standard!!!!!!!!!

I agree a 100%. Get the disgrace of Buriram roads up to just a decent standard and then spend money to maintain them!

I've heard highway 218 is planned to be "Buffalo free road" in the near future.  hahaha

As you can see the "dustless road" project is expanding!! thumbup stop1

The road Buriram airport - Buriram city has been under construction for a long time, but now as you can see they expanded the road to be 2 lanes each direction and the road is really good now.
There is a small part of the road not finished yet but as you can see its almost ready!!

I hope it lasts longer than when they made the stretch of the 24 into Dual Carraigeway between Nong Ki & Sakut.........It was cracking up athe day it was opened to traffic!!!

Highway 24 between Chok Chai & Sakut now resembles an assault course,some of the potholes are so big they have put traffic cones in them some so big that it takes 3 cones to cover the area,,,The 2 newly laid stretches (only 2 months ago) between The Pig Farm & Nang Rong have also started to badly break up!!!!

The work progress is good and I think the road will be ready soon, Road 219 is looking good and the expansion of 2 lanes each direction will open the traffic which has its busy times when the sugar cane tracks are driving on this road on their way from/to the sugar factory and farms.
Great to see the city developing each month I am more surprised to see how Buriram is changing for the better.  thumbup
Better roads, better supporting services, healthy competition and better prices in the markets, I don't know if you have noticed the changes but I do see great changes which affects the city character by every means and will bring more foreigners/farangs to make a decision and live in our small town. party8
