If you have a good internet connection you can use what they call "Slingbox" and if you want to watch sports use the web site www.athde.net (http://www.athde.net).

I am lost without UKNOVA. It can be a bit hard to register as they keep members numbers down, but in saying that a few friends have got in recently. It is a very comprehensive schedule of UK based torrrents that aredownloadable and usually a couple of days old compared to the original 'airing' date. I use/downloaded VUSE to organise the 'torrents' within my PC.

Its my No.1 site and other progs can be found on Piratebay or Mininova.

I use GPRS connection as I have no land line, many different dishes around but you need True Visions <UBC> or the satellite which picks up all the Supersport Channels which has Sky ,BBC entertaiment,BBCLive,Nat Geo,Hist Ch,& many movie channels all in English.

I just remembered I have a HUAWEI E169G Dongle here in the UK, it would be very expensive to use it over in Thailand with the existing sim, could I get a local sim and insert or will it have to be unlocked?

1-2-Call internet card costs around 150 baht with 20 free hours

I don't have a clue as to whether or not your dongle would or can be unlocked!!!!!!
The easy thing to do is to bring it & try it

I managed to sort dongle for my laptop in a phone shop near the bus station at Prakhon Chai.

1900 baht for the dongle and the 100 baht for the sim with 6 hours usage allowance on it.

Works fine in my village about 6km from Prakhon Chai.

Ok guys,
I have made some research for you.

Dtv: http://www.dtvthai.com/index.php (http://www.dtvthai.com/index.php)
45 Channels.
All Thai or other Asian languages.
Cost: 2900 Baht.

PSI: http://www.psisat.com/main/ (http://www.psisat.com/main/)
130 Channels.
All Thai or other Asian languages.
Cost: 3900 Baht.

iPM: http://www.bsat.co.th/bsat/index.asp (http://www.bsat.co.th/bsat/index.asp)
80 Channels.
All Thai or other Asian languages. Some tv programs/movies are in English language.
Cost: 3900/4900 Baht (Old/New receiver model).

For some reason the shop I was advicing with, advised me to take iPM.
But they did said that if you want an English channels UBC will be the best choice around in the area.

All companies conditions:

1 year warranty on the receivers.

Installation included.

NO MONTHLY FEE.

I think there are better options but this should be bought outside of this area and I have heard people have problems from time to time with getting reception/signal and channels being scrambled, need to find the new code on the internet, etc etc...

I found this website offering Australian and other international channels but I chat with he owner for you, he saying only the FREE CHANNELS.

Example, I asked about the US CNN channel, can't get it anyway because its not a free channel.
He told me only UBC can get it?!...... UBC, to get CNN need to pay 1500 Baht and more.

See Australian TV package: Cost: 16,000 Baht.
http://www.jsat.tv/satellite-packages/australian-network.html (http://www.jsat.tv/satellite-packages/australian-network.html)

I suggest you to search for a cheaper packages, it seems very expensive price for me, I told the owner this and he said all the others offering cheaper packages are "horses" confused4 Maybe he is right.. stop1

I have the Australian network here and it is free to air. www.australianetwork.com (http://www.australianetwork.com) for more details. Excellent station, they also have Australian rules,  Rugby. documentaries, news as well a host of other shows.  Packed to the rafters, Home and away, Four corners, Dateline, Sea patrol, Rush to name a few. They also have childrens programmes such as play school and Bananas in pyjamas.

I got a guy from Prasat to come out and have a dish and a set top box and I get half a dozen other free to air stations as well.

Also worth having a look at is a site called www.diwana.org (http://www.diwana.org). They have a range of programs from both Australia and New Zealand.

With this site you simply need to download the shows you want but again they have excellent content. A lot of the content here is not available on Australia network.

Hope this information is of some help to board members.

He told me he can deliver and can install alone/technician.
He also assured me its working, that's how he explained me the high prices of these packages.

I just went to UBC (True Move) 2 weeks ago to disconnect me from their service, I find their service too expensive and too little updates of movies and series for my opinion (repeating...).

In my case, I will get some of the local Satellite service, No monthly fees and low cost of the equipment (around 2000-5000 Baht), Not much English channel if at all, but I can live with it, I usually see things on the internet anyway.. sawadi

I don't know about Siam sport channel but I just removed UBC and installed iPM (Private satellite).

No monthly fees. fastclapping

Though, not much English channels.

I'm not watching TV so often, mostly music and zip between channels, there is no better source than the internet, most updated, and if it was on TV, I can watch it few days later in one of the many website uploading TV programs from all over the world.

This is exactly what put me off the idea to do it with them, also price.

I wanted the technician to come and install and see its working before money paid.
