Northeastern Kite Festival

The Festival is held annually in the Muang district in December.

A beauty contest and an Aek Kite Competition are scheduled.

Aek kite ( ancient yoke shaped kite ) when flown in the air looks like two kites attached to one another.

The kite festival is one of annually festival of Buriram province, which has held up on the first weekend of December (first Saturday and Sunday of December) of every year at the sports stadium in Amphoe Huai Rat (Huai Rat district). Which it is during the harvest season when the begin of winter.The pictures of last year (2009) as below  :

Buriram people has made kites for sale make income during winter season.
