Went to Krungsri in Robinson today to set up new account to hold money for immigration purposes. Staff at desk 7 spoke English fairly well and was most helpful. I?ll get 1.3 percent interest, more than standard checking but far less than my investment account earns. However I won?t be held to transfers every month at 50 bucks a pop. Peace of mind really. If baht to dollar drops to 20 again I would have difficulties staying here if I relied only on monthly transfers. I can definitely live just fine on 40K per month.
