Portable Air conditioners

I am seeing a lot of portable air conditioners for sale, does anyone know anything about these units (how well they work, electrical consumption) seems to me when you hook up the exhaust hose to the window they may not be so portable? where does the condensation go?

I had one didn?t work well at all. If you are previewing them in an aircondioned store beware. Misting does help a bit but not a lot. You may end up with a fine white dust because of hard water. There are many blogs about it so do a little research. I would not recommend.
