I remember the old Hope, before the Coke. 72 is even before Rambo. Good memories for me. First stop on our way to Osoyoos. DQ in Hope
What?? ;
Sorry for the delayed response. It seems I?m not getting my notifications.
My message was in response to Tassie who lived in Hope in 1972. Hope BC (British Columbia) is a true place. It is where Sylvester Stallone filmed his very first Rambo movie. It was made to look like a small US town. When leaving the city of Vancouver it is generally the first stop to get gas. As a kid all I remembered was, there was a DQ - Dairy Queen there and also a gas station. It later became the fork in the road. The original Highway #1 that crosses Canada west to east as well as the new Coquihala Highway. Nicknamed the Coke.(because no one could spell it and most had trouble pronouncing it) Osoyoos was a small summer town, now a resort, now famous for their wines. The names are true to the indigenous people as they were the original settlers. Yup, we don?t say Indians anymore. Sorry for the confusion. I won?t leave those abbreviations anymore
