Facebook agrees deal to broadcast Premier League football in Thailand

From the start of the 2019-20 season, all 380 Premier League games will be broadcast on Facebook to viewers in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, with the social network having beaten current holders BeIn Sports and Fox Sports Asia to the rights.

According to The Times, Facebook agreed the first of its kind deal with the Premier League which will give the firm exclusive access to the lucrative Southeast Asian market.

The deal, reportedly worth GBP 200 million over three years is Facebook?s biggest push yet into sports broadcasting, having previously streamed some MLS and La Liga games on its platform.

Facebook of course is hugely popular with people in Thailand ? as is English Premier League football.
