At the back side of the Chatuchak Market, Mo Chit Skytrain Station Bangkok is a large market that sells pet fish, there are sections that sell birds.  I know I saw parakeet type birds there, not sure about canaries, but I would say probably.

Somewhat nearer to home, the Korat Save One Night Market has a large row of shops  selling all kinds of animals/pets and I believe birds. Maybe worth a look, although I do not know whether they have canaries. Not been for a couple of years.

Prakhonchai has a pet shop on the road with the Buriram United shop. Take the wife talk to Baz, he can get most things.
