repair split vinyl on sofa
« on: January 08, 2018, 12:14:56 PM »
I have a sofa with vinyl covered cushions.

A 5cm split has appeared on one of the cushions. I would like to have it repaired. The cushions are not removable from the seat base, so the repair guy would need to visit my home behind BigC in Mueang Buriram to do the repair.

Does anyone know of a suitable repairman ? Perhaps a car seat upholsterer ?

Any comments appreciated.

Hi Smooth, My first point of call maybe Ron from ICE. If he couldn't do, he would know someone that could. I recall in my younger days that the car dashboard would split due to the HOT Australian sun. A guy would seal it with a melting technique (of sorts). Someone may know of a Motor Trimmer in Buriram. Good Luck Mate. Psst and how good was the Cricket? Who was it we were playing again? Regards

G'day Wayne. Thanks for your suggestion. There's plenty of cheap vinyl repair kits on Lazada etc but I've never tried them before, so thought I'd throw it open to the Forum first.

I'll maybe have a chat to Ron, and see what happens next.

Ashes ... you bewdy. Shoutbox woke a few local Poms up. Get up'em whilst we can   crazydance

Cheers mate

Also Smooth, Ron's Mrs (Garloong) is a genius, she could have that whole sofa unstitched, fixed/matching piece inserted and restitched and looking like new in no time.

How has your Rugby Union team been getting on boys? I understand they even lost to the Jocks  redman

It makes me laugh, did you see any English chirping after winning the last series, nope not on here boys.

Enjoy your glory, beating the worst English team to leave those hallowed shores. Gloat when you win a series away from Oz!!

All good fun Adam. Nothing like an Ashes series to bring out the Eng-Aussie rivalry and sledging. Doesn't really matter whether in England or Oz, cricket lovers look forward to the contest.

Rugby Union ? Don't follow it, so if the Aussies lost to a team in their underwear, they must have been bad.

Why don't the English celebrate an Ashes victory with a bit of chirping ?

Ah .... the "worst team to leave our shores" furphy. Seems to be the standard response of pundits around the world for their losing teams' performance. We get that in Oz also from our media when we lose a series somewhere.

Anyway .... bad luck for the England team in the recent series. Pretty piss poor effort really.

I'm only pulling your chain boys ! I love cricket, and if you can't chirp as winners, then what's the point of following any sport ?

2019 series in England ? Who knows ? I hope Steve Smith or Joe Root don't retire. Both teams will be all out for 70.

I should point out that I was watching the cricket on TV when I noticed the split in my vinyl sofa, hence all this cricket waffle is relevant to this thread ...... sort of.

Apologies to all non-Oz and non-English expats reading this. Cricket is a mystical genteel sport, known only to nations that can spell the King's English correctly.

I'm just yanking your chain as well, usually gets a better response!!!!!

I think you should be ashamed that you didn't win 5-0. England missing their best player in Stokesy. So your team did worse than last time against a worse side, SHAME ON YOU!! LOL!

I don't chirp as England are guaranteed to lose in OZ so a win in England is nothing to chirp about.

My missus just sent her car seats to our second pick up to be re done in Prakhonchai I'll let you know if they are stunning when they come back !
