Greetings one and all. I'm new to the Buriram forum and wanted to say hello.

I've been retired for the past 5 years and have taken 9 trips to Thailand (normally 30 days each time). I've never been to Buriram, but on my next trip in September I plan to spend an extended period of time there. I met someone on my last trip and she has stolen my heart. LOL

My future plans have always been to live in Thailand for 9 or 10 months a year and beginning next year (2019) I will be coming in September to stay for 9 months. I'm from North American and plan to stay here in the summer months (June, July and August). Don't want to leave my friends and family totally, so I figure a few months home and the rest of the year in LOS. If things work out I may make Buriram my Thailand home.

I'll be coming to Thailand for 60 days in September and then again in January for 2-3 months. I'm currently in the process of acquiring a retirement visa that will allow me to stay longer after that.

Hopefully I can develop a few contacts in Buriram and perhaps meet some of the member when I arrive in September.

Everyone stay well and stay happy!!!           Terry

Welcome Terry. You'll find a lot of really nice people in Buriram. Do you play golf? There is a great group of lads that play golf a couple of days a week. There is many good places to have a beer and meet a lot of nice people. Your plans to stay in Buriram 9 months of the year are similar to mine, but I'm a couple of years off that yet. Regards

Thanks Wayne and Nookiebear.

I'm excited to sample the life style there. Hope it'll work out for me.  I do golf, but only 9 holes in the Thailand heat is plenty for me.   LOL

I've noticed there are not too many recent posts on the forum. Hopefully there are enough fella's here to help me along in my new adventure in Issan. I'll be looking for an apartment soon and hopefully I can find something with a little help here.

Welcome Terry.
I've been here for nearly 4 years on a permanent basis and feel completely settled. There's an adjustment period for sure but I found that once I'd established a circle of close friends it made all the difference.
Hope all your plans work out well.
Steve.
