NEW SEAFOOD BARBEQUE IN NANG RONG -EXCELLENT

A new seafood BBQ opened a few days ago............its bloody good
Unlimited Crabs,Prawns etc...The prawns are still alive!!,free soft drinks,sandwiches cakes,icecream.........4 of us went last night .......1575 baht including 9 large beers.
A couple of bits of eye candy working there too!!
its situated virtually opposite the Mitsui dealership on the 24....virtually next door to FORD.

There's a new one in Prakhonchai too. Opposite end of the bus station road to My Corner, same side of the road.

Seafood BBQ also opened in Prakhonchai within the past 2 weeks. probably same owner.

199baht, all you can eat,,,crabs/prawns/squid/etc + all the normal nua yang meat items, etc etc.  Amazing value..unlikely to remain at that price for long though.

Would add a photo if I knew how.

Could well be,,,,its certainly well stocked all night.They wsr having to wait to get tables

I tried the Prakhonchai restaurant.

I am no fan of Korean BBQ so we just had the mesh grill ..... an extra 40 Baht apparently.


We arrived at 5.30 pm and it was barely 20% full. By the time we left at 7.30 pm it was around half full.


I would agree that the value is very good. More importantly for me is quality; the prawns were decent quality and so fresh that they were jumping off the grill  , the meat was OK but the squid was rubbery and I do not like cold khao pad. The missus said that the crab and hoy were not fresh - but added that for PKC that is not unusual.

Despite being quiet the service was not attentive, maybe we were unlucky but the khatoey who served us only returned once to the table and we had to call someone for more drinks, ice and more coals.


Prakhonchai Nick had said that he did not notice the discomfort of the red plastic chairs during his 3 stay because of the copious amount of LEO consumed  ...... it was therefore something of a surprise to find that they did not sell alcohol. Obviously they did on Nick's visit so it must have been a shock to their business plan to (presumably) be told by the local BiB that they were within 300m of a school and could not sell alcohol !!

Overall, this place is significantly better than other seafood BBQs I have tried in PKC. Whether the price vs relative quality will change, or whether no alcohol sales will affect them, time will only tell.

Perhaps someone can assist with clarifying our bill, which came out at 507 Baht:-


2 x 199 Baht for food + 40 Baht surcharge for the grill plate  =   438 Baht.

That leaves 69 Baht to cover the 4 soda waters we had.....

Note..... ice was free during October.

We had a good dining experience at the Nang Rong Seafood buffet last night.  It was good value for money. The crabs were empty of meat as the months having an R (SeptembeR as an example) are not the premium months to harvest salt water crabs. May, June, July and August are when they are most full of meat.  The prawns were actually alive and jumping off the plate onto the ground.
