USB C is coming
« on: August 19, 2017, 08:17:56 PM »
USB C is coming, be prepared.  This is a new type connector for your computers.

What Is USB-C?

USB-C is the emerging industry-standard connector for transmitting both data and power. The USB-C connector was developed by the USB Implementers Forum, the group of companies that has developed, certified, and shepherded the USB standard. It counts more than 700 companies in its membership, including Apple, Dell, HP, Intel, Microsoft, and Samsung. This is important, because it's part of why USB-C has been so readily accepted by PC manufacturers. Contrast this with the earlier Apple-promoted (and developed) Lightning and MagSafe connectors, which had limited acceptance beyond Apple products, and, because of USB-C, are soon to be completely obsolete.

While I can agree that is looks like a great idea, it will necessitate me obtaining new cables, adapters, and computer interfaces.

Sometimes Government interference can be beneficial.  There is a saying, follow the money.  Is this the endall to bring all the USB together? I predict a new interface within the next 5 years.

Wireless is already here. Will likely be the norm before the next 5 years.

I have been ignoring you, but this time you have pushed the limit.  Power your devices via wireless?  I have not seen that.

Provide the IEEE interface that supports powercharging via wireless (not bluetooth).

Is is dark in here.

Must be more Brit Humor.

LOL Darkman cannot backup his words so he changes the subject.  I never said I do not attack.  Attack me first and you are fair game.  Remember the Thread "Everything wrong with Urleft."?

So you make a totally stupid posting which I knew you eventually would.  But, you want to redeem yourself?  Show how the current 3BB Wireless routers provide wireless power charging per your post:

Wireless is already here. Will likely be the norm before the next 5 years.

Can't do that, than the Darkman lable is appropriate.  And if you can't do that do not bother replying.

And if you do that, and I can charge my samsung phone with your data, I will give a full public apology to you saying you are the man that knows what is right.

Once again you must add additional info to satisfy yourself.

I never mentioned routers, let alone 3bb. And even more mystifying is that routers don't use USB.

You said, and I quote "Power your devices via wireless?  I have not seen that." "Provide the IEEE interface that supports powercharging via wireless (not bluetooth)."

I did just that.

Thanks.

Read the link I provided.

I don't need to do that darkman, it is you that needs to prove current wireless already provides power charging. Look at what I said Darkman:

While I can agree that is looks like a great idea, it will necessitate me obtaining new cables, adapters, and computer interfaces.

Darkman, can I do 3bb wireless power charging now with my existing cables, adapters and computer interfaces?

Try a simple Yes or No.

But if yes provide the exact methodology required to charge my Samsung S5 phone via my 3BB wireless.

Like I said.

Routers do not use USB.

Please explain your reasoning as this thread is about "USB C"

Can you currently charge you Samsung via cable from your 3BB router with USB?

They are data transfer ports.

Designed for printers or external hard drives.

Not internet and not power.
