Good post Ray. As locals, we visit some of these restaurants on a regular basis, and I guess we've all formed our own opinions about most of them. Some good, some not so good.

I find it quite interesting to read the visitor (non-locals) reviews about Buriram restaurants that we know so well.

From what I understand, a high ranking for any business on Trip Advisor is absolute gold.

I certainly use Trip Advisor when travelling to anywhere new. If unfamiliar with the area I always look for the Top 10 Restaurants. As a result have had some excellent meals in Bangkok and Phuket. On the whole I find it pretty accurate.

I think you have to second guess the quality of some of the contributors but, I agree, it is a great start point for deciding where to go.

I am currently in Koh Chang and we picked 3 restaurants off Trip Advisor reviews - we were not disappointed.

Thanks for sharing. That's great especially if the steak place is as good as the reviews. My daughter does not like Thai food, so I guess we will be going to these places regularly during our visit.

Personally I have never used Tripadvisor. Main reason as pointed out in Coco's comment above about the quality of some of the posters.

I do, however, like to try out places where I have received a personal recommendation.

We tried this place out last Wednesday. Very good. Not on trip advisor

Total bill was only 1078 baht. Very impressed.
