oh dear, wrong generation. British troops passing through Suez were approached by shady characters offering 'certain services'.

I suppose nobody knows what shufti means these days either (as in shufti bint).

Shufti means take a look. I never heard the word kush though, maybe we don't move in the same circles!

We keep two bottles. Than way when one runs out (and it will always run out when you need it to finish cooking something) we can quickly switch bottles and continue on. Then when we get a chance we have the empty bottle refilled and ready to be on standby.

Just bought one. Thanks Nookie.

We have 5 now. As with Ahab we exchange before we get to the last one. Having an extra one now means we can keep 2 in reserve.

We've got 3. Still had several occasions in past 3 years where connected bottle runs out and wife tells me we have to get gas, all bottles empty. Women!!

Are these things abailable in Thailand?  If so would solve a lot of problems with running out of gas. When one bottle runs out switch to the other, and off to the shop to get refill.

We have that very same Lucky Flame regulator with gauge. We got our in Lam Plait Mat a couple of years ago and has been trouble free. Can't remember how much we paid for it but they are definitely in some local shops if required.
In all honesty though, I have never looked at the gauge.
