Global Online Entry System - For US Passport holders
« on: May 17, 2014, 10:22:35 PM »
I joined the Global Online Entry System (GOES) in 2009, I have not regretted it.  It is one the few US GVT programs that just seems to get better and better.

Here is the offical website:  https://goes-app.cbp.dhs.gov/main/goes

When I got off my plane in Dallas on 21 April, less than 5 minutes later I was through both immigration and customs (yes, only had carry on).

When I got to TSA Screening, I was front lined without having to remove shoes, belt, computers, and toiletries.   Took less than 5 minutes.

So if you are a US Passport holder, I really recommend you check out GOES.   It is worth every penny IMHO.

I have heard that GOES is now international, but do not have specific proof.

However, it you are a US Passport holder and get approved for GOES you will also get TSA Pre-Screen, and expedited re-entry from Mexico and Canada.

GOES for International travel works for about a dozen countries of which, Thailand is not one of them, at this time.
One big issue for a person wanting to apply for approval requires travel to an Enrollment Center, located in the USA; which may well be a rather significant trip by itself.  In my case, once in the US, closest location would mean a 400 mile round trip. There may be Enrollment Centers located else where, in the case of a UK citizen.

So it seem GOES is actually going international.  I can vouch for how it works in the USA.   Anyone have experience from other countries?
