As Davu says, more than one report should be required before deciding something is offensive or inappropriate.
It's probably the same person reporting every time.
Perhaps he'd like to own up and state what his problem is. (it's doubtful)

So if I decide I don't like something and report it, it gets deleted? A minimum of three reports, I should have thought, as well as a message/warning to the poster would be in order?
We do appreciate your work, Admin, we wouldn't be using the forum if we didn't.

I have to agree with NongKi Bloke and Davu. This is a public forum, and pretty much every topic has posts that are likely to upset someone with a different viewpoint.

So Mod is telling us that if one person doesn't like a post for whatever reason .... it gets deleted ?

Sorry Mod ... that's rubbish.

There are lots of posts and several topics that give me the utter heebie-jeebies, but I don't rush to the Report Button ... I just move on. They are simply members voicing their opinions.

We all acknowledge that a Moderator is essential, but you can't open the door for some grumpy members that hate the world in general, or a spammer, to report everything they don't like.

(Mod ... as English is not your first language, you may have to Google heebie-jeebies)

A Moderator whose first language is English would be a huge plus; American English = even better.

Would American-English actually help in understanding humour?

Sorry. Maybe my English is not good.

I try to say that we do not delete posts that are not reported. Not that if one person reports we delete.

Also the start of this was Adam say about shout box. Admins cannot edit shouts. Only.delete. No change on shout box yesterday.

American - English would be helpful in attempting to understand Brit English.  My humor is about as dry as anyone here; understanding what a Brit thinks is humor is not a problem for me.  Understanding what they think is funny . . . . will save that for a different day.

I love English humour, it is witty and a great play on English words.  I find US humour more child like similar to slapstick and not really funny at all.  Australians love English humour.

The weakness in the system is, I am sorry to say, having it run by a non-native speaker.  (No criticism of Mod;  she is doing her best.)  It is not, and should never be, the number of reports that counts;  it's what they complain about.

And surely Mod could enlist the help of a native speaker when in doubt.  There's a good telephone service.
