Treated Timber

I'm considering building a pergola. I know that buying treated timber here is expensive. Any recommendations for a good place to go in the Buriram/Lam Plait Mat area.

Just a thought. Have you considered resin board that looks like wood?  They also have prebuilt ones at a shop on main road going towards Robinson from 226. I've been meaning to stop in there myself.

Thanks DD. I'll have a look however the area m placing it is a very odd shape so a standard rectangle or square kit won't work. However it may well be that they have the pre-notched uprights and rails. Will depend on price. It's not complicated to build from scratch so very much depends on the mark-up to buy pre-notched.
Not sure about the resin board. No denying far less upkeep and maintenance required but I do like the look of real wood.
What I'm intending to do is about 14m long and 3m deep. Almost like a walkway. We've got a stretch of wall that I'm trying to tart up and then grow some climbing flowers ober it.

I completely understand. Sounds like a very nice plan. If you want to get timber and have it notched my neighbor has a simple table saw with I'm guessing 20" blade powered by Kubota. I'm sure for a small fee he could help if you go that route. It's a very simple setup but it works. I'm sure a lot cheaper than buying a circular saw if you only need it the one time (sorry Pichai.)

Heads up on Zinsano Circular Saw repairs in Buriram. The female spokes model in this photo taken inside the power tool repair department of Ruangsangthai is not a normal employee of my hardware store. She seemed familiar with the term wood. She and several other female models will in fact be on hand doing the hard job of presenting tools, solar panels, sanitary ware, and home building materials at the 7 day free expo now set for February 2017 in Buriram. Full details will be forthcoming on this "open day" which will last one full week.

So today I went on the hunt for timber. I tried the place in Buriram on the left just before Robinson. I can't fault the quality of the timber, good treated hardwood however the price I was quoted  for what I needed was 58,000 baht.
I have now purchased from the wood yard in Lam Plait Mat. The one just past the petrol station and before the PEA Office.
Same quantity. 17,000 baht. Not the greatest wood in the world. I'd say semi - hard wood bit ill be treating and staining it anyway. The guy running it was really helpful and spent 2 hours sorting through and selecting the truest lengths.
Already been delivered.
Well worth a look if your not overly fussy. I've certainly had worse timber delivered in the UK.
