Buriram immigration office?
« on: July 22, 2016, 08:43:47 PM »
So, anybody know the status of the much-talked-about "new Buriram Immigration Office"? 125 kilometres to Kap Choeng from here so I am very interested in any info you all may have. Thanks!

Those GPS coordinates are in the meridian of the 226 highway. Strange location for an immigration office.

True, but it's the Entrance of the Building (from the 226) where the Immigration Office is.

Further inside is here: N14.94469 E103.10595

Any info on the potential opening date? Are all the services currently available at KCI gong to be provided at the Biriram office?

I went to KapChoeng yesterday (Aug-10-2016) to clear up a little confusion on my retirement visa and the guy (Whose desk had a large sign saying 'Buriram') fixed all my problems and was very emphatic that for my next 90 day report that I go to Buriram and in one year, for my visa renewal , that I go (where else) but Buriram.
My wife insisted on talking to him and she was impressed.

Can I report for my 90 day retirement visa requirement in Buriram now?  I live in Buriram province.  I saw that maybe I can go to Korat for this.  Is that true?  Also, I am moving here from Suratthani.  Where can I register my new address please?

You have to go to Kap Cheung Immigration if you live in Buriram......Korat will turn you away

I can confirm that Korat will turn you away. I live in Buriram province and tried my luck with a 90 day report in Korat on the 26th July. The answer was No.

@ Burton S

Where was your extension of stay issued ?

I had a hell of a time doing my 90 days in Kap Choeng (KCI) when I moved to Buriram because my extension of stay was issued in another Province (Chonburi)

Before you take the trip to KCI (250 km round trip for me) better call them first and ask if you can do the 90 day report

Some member for sure will post the Phone Number

Edit: Registering your new address you also need to do at KCI (unfortunately) as the Buriram Immigration Office isn't OPEN yet.

Had a member here that got his O visa in Hau Hin and he came to me for the extension paperwork, filled out the forms and say things went very smooth at KCI.

Think it depends on who you get at KCI and how they fell that day.
