Looking for Bridge players (the card game)

Two Forum members are interested in playing Bridge on a regular basis - for fun only.  It is a card game played by teams of two people involving some (potentially) complicated bidding. We haven't played for some years and will need to remember how to bid, score, etc but we have the basics and can teach others how to play at a beginner's level.  We're thinking of playing one day each week at a public location for a few hours.  If you're interested and want more information, please respond to this post and we'll set up a meeting possibly next Monday (18th).

That farcical escapade was down to a disgruntled woman telling the Police is was a big gambling operation.When the Keystone Kop like Army, Pattaya Police and District Officials  raided the place in full force and found out it wasn't ,  to save face they made an issue of it and became a laughing stock for a few days .

I've seen the same, but there was also mentioning that they broke an actual law of having more then 120 Playing Cards in the same game and that wasn't allowed. But I suspect that was also an attempt to save face by the BiB.

There are laws, no links sorry, but most of the time it will be interpreted by the officers present.

4 farang playing cards??Tough to call. They may find it funny and laugh or they could decide they want to make a few quid.

I have to agree (again (sorry urleft ). It only takes someone to call the BiB to turn an innocent game of Bridge into a nasty surprise.

I believe that the size of the Pattaya group was the problem - some very old law that said if more than xx people playing cards then it must be gambling - think there was 30+.  We won't get near that number so no problem. I was thinking of Jimmy's Cafe as a venue - tables well suited to cards.

I would have to advice against it to play in a Public Place, why ? read my previous post.

I would suggest a less public venue.

Also you must remember that Jimmy's is technically Jimmy's Wife's.

Big risk for her.

The problem was not the number of people.
