Austrian Schnitzel Restaurant in Mueang Buriram
« on: April 09, 2016, 11:29:47 AM »
Wirtin Austrian Schnitzel Restaurant in Mueang Buriram.

On the initial recommendation of a good mate, I've now visited this place twice.

Food is excellent, particularly the Vienna chicken schnitzel & homemade potato salad. Huge serve. Good value.

Owners Roman & Ying are also very genial happy hosts.

Beaut little restaurant. Highly recommended. Give it go. You won't be disappointed.

Located along the back road between BigC and i-Mobile football stadium. Starting at BigC end, travel 1.5km towards i-Mobile stadium. Restaurant is on the right, immediately opposite the entrance to the Buddhist Temple.

The restaurant has red & white banners flying at footpath level.

I recommend it also. The Prices seem to be high, but what you get is enormous, good you have a doggybag with you....

One of my Wifes Thai friends recomended this place to her. Today we searched it out, and am very pleased we did. As previous posters have said the portions are huge. We shared a Pizza and still had to ask for a doggy bag to take home what we could not manage.  It was delicious, certainly one of the best I have ever had. They also sell a variety of German/Austrian style sausages and cooked meats. It is run by an Austrian / Thai couple, who were great hosts.
Roman, the owner also speaks very good English.
Our first time there today, it cetainly won't be the last.

Sounds good.  We make another Buriram run next Tuesday.  Any info on hours/closed days?

We found our way there today.  As described above, delicious and generous servings.  I had the the Mushroom Schnitzel with fried potatoes and TW had the Cordon Bleu with cabbage salad, which she finished less than half of.  We also ordered some sausage to take home and put in an order for some others that they didn't have in stock.

Roman was a very pleasant host as well. Thanks to everyone who recommended the place. We'll be back.

We went there last week and it was just as described. That was our second visit.

Myself and a mate ate there this afternoon. We opted for Pasta dishes both of which were excellent. Good portions and good value. Roman is a very good and entertaining host. Next visit I will go for the schnitzel and potatoe salad.

We have become a regular, all be it seldom, visitor to Roman's establishment.
My wife tends to choose the fish meal which she likes, I have had a variety of meals here but enjoy his pizza meals (have had three alternatives of this) and they are great value.
I used to be a regular of Muang Pizza and had been going there for a few years but a while ago as well as our normal order we ordered a takeaway pizza as a treat for our young 8YO. Did not open it until we got home & found it was only a base without the advertised topping.
I know that they have been doing it hard since the opening of more competition in Buriram. Last time I went to Muang I thought I would mention my disappointment to the owner who was eating by himself at another table. When I did he went ballistic accusing me of not being upright (because I had not taken a photo of my inferior product). I just withdrew & did not think any more of it. When I suggested to my wife about going back there later my wife was firmly of the opinion that she would NOT go there again (having a Thai embarrassment of what happened). His pizzas are clearly inferior pizzas having a poor base & steadily reducing toppings).
Roman's place is now our place of choice!!!! Tony

Went there for dinner last night. Excellent food and really large portions. My wife had the pizza and is normally pretty picky but she actually had two slices. She also really liked my salad and my main course. I had the Wienne Schnitzel and it was awesome. Crispy breading/crust but no oily with very tender veal. The side salad was also very good.

I came in hungry and still left with takeaway bags for the pizza and schnitzel. I highly recommend this place and will definitely go back. It's on the curvy road that goes from behind BigC to the "back entrance" to the football/soccer stadium.

The Wirtin Schnitzel Restaurant is now closed for an indefinate period.

For some time Roman has been talking about going back to Europe, and I believe he may have gone 2-3 days ago.

Certainly all the banners and footpath advertising is gone, and the shop is now shuttered up.

Good luck to Roman and Ying. Their food was excellent.
