Advice on British Coins
« on: August 05, 2015, 09:31:08 AM »
I have ended up with some old British coins, some over 100 years.

Is it worth my time and effort to find a decent Numismatic?

I Have:

Half Crown – 1920

One Penny – 1907, 1909, 1917, 1919(2), 1920, 1935, 1945

Half Penny – 1912, 1920, 1927, 1933, 1940, 1943, 1944(4)

Six Pence – 1928

Three Pence – 1942

Farthing - 1945

I think you mean numismatist if you are  referring to an expert, as numismatic means the study of currency

I used to do a little bit of coin collecting as a boy.

Here is a site with a rough price guide on what your coins are worth .

http://british-coin-price-guide.homelinux.com/

To be honest the coins you have are mostly very common and unless they are mint there value is quite small.

On that site above there's various links to where your can send your list of coins for appraisal .

Hope that helps  :)

And they need to be in good condition. I have a 193 something 5 Frank piece that is supposedly worth 300 Franks. In Switzerland
