I absolutely agree re: Topps Buriram vs Topps Surin.  We were both commenting on how much better the selection was in Buriram.

Agree 100% but give it 6 months, because they do have a reputation for peaking early and fading.........I can relate to that!  party3

I consider the Topps here superior, I was there today and they had real chocolate chips to make cookies, wow, first I've seen here.  Once I get my oven installed I plan to bake some.

Comparing the Topps here with Surin I would say Surin is in 2nd place in all categories except for the meat.  Surin has a nice meat area (especially Beef).

Also, as usual the price for a case of Leo (can and bottle) is the same as Makro and Big C.  But Topps takes credit cards to make purchases easy.

Chocolate chips have been in Makro for a long time. They also take credit cards.

Agreed CoCo. Tops in Buriram are having a honeymoon period. It won't last. Tops Surin was much more accommodating in the first few months than it is now.

I was in Makro today at about 2pm. To me there didn't seem to be any difference in the amount of people. I don't think Makro will be affected. They have a totally different market.

Doesn't "Tops" only have one "P"?

I agree about Makro - but the licensing laws will change the buying dynamics.

If you don't need booze, get in there before 11.00 am...... it will be quiet.

You are correct, only one 'p'.  Brain f@rt on my part.  Or I was stuttering  ;D Thanks for the correction.

I had never spent less than 20 minutes at the Makro checkouts, so it may not last, but it was empty yesterday.

I hope Toppppppps Buriram doesn't fade.

(edit: it turns out that slang for passing gas is censored by the board)

I noted the Buriram Tops Market had deeper stock and a better selection of imported food than currently available at the Surin Tops Market. There is competition at the Robinson Lifestyle Center for Coffee drinkers. A new franchise coffee shop for Buriram Province is Southern Coffee which has on offer 40 baht for a coffee.

I was at Tops earlier today, they had some great deals on BBQ sauces.  I highly recommend Night of the Living BBQ, it was 103 down from 259.  And its partner Cowtown BBQ Sauce was 90% off down to 25 Baht.

Of course the cash register did not have those prices so they had took the stickers to check me out, not sure if they put them back.  But here is a pic of the prices, over by produce, not on the sauce aisle.

BTW, Tops also has a new meat display (did not get a pic of that) which looks like you can get your cut of imported beef.  It's located directly across from this picture.

Keith......what are the sell-by dates. Close to expiry or ge nuine discount. Only ask because I wouldn't use quickly and may sit in fridge/cupboard for a while.

Was in there today. Great coffee, and the wife had a delicious ice cream thing. Only thing that spoiled it was our Waitress, who had a face like a smacked ass. Never even looked at us when she brought the order to the table, miserable cow!!

Steve,

The Pain in good sauce I checked was May 2018, I could not find a date on the Cowtown sauce.

Had ribs with "Night of the living BBQ" sauce last night, I think Smooth2 and Som Luck will attest to it being really really good, even with my daughter's help in cooking.
