Kasikorn bank
« on: February 24, 2015, 11:01:31 PM »
I am going for my first marriage visa(!?) next week.
I would like to know if Monday is a bad day and more importantly where is the closest Kasikorn bank to KCI ?
Must say I am not looking forward to it, I hate anything to do with paperwork.
Any help please,thank you

I prefer not to go to the bank for a service such as a bank letter where you need to queue inside, or immigration on a Monday or Friday. I've always had best results Tuesday-Thursday.

While not about a marriage visa, has you checked out this thread:  http://www.buriramexpats.com/forum/index.php/topic,8136.0.html

Alot of the same steps/forms.  There is also a link to the Thai forms if you don't have it.

The closest Kasikorn Bank is in Prasat. Bangkok Bank is opposite KCI. Basically most days at KCI are not busy BUT as such avoid Mondays, Fridays, days before and after a holliday. Plane on 1.5 hours for your marriage extension. Be polite, smile and make sure the little lady is with you. I will do my 4th marriage extension in May and my wife has all the details down pat in Thai and English. If you have time please fill free to stop by M&D Coffee we are about 600 meters down from KCI towards the crossing.

There is one form you will not find on the links and that is the form in Thai that the wife must fill out. this form can be obtained at KCI before and taken home. I have extra of these forms at M&D.

I will be going on Tuesday for the same thing. You can go a day late if you want, there is a margin (up to 7 days after I believe) before you find yourself on overstay.
Is it just my impression, or is KCI less crowded these days? I remember people standing because of a lack of chairs. Or maybe it's the time of year?

When I went 2 weeks ago it was not bad, had 4 of us getting extensions and 3 agents.  They put 90 day reports to the front.

As far as 7 days late I am not sure.  A KCI agent told me that every day I was late after my extension expired on 14 Feb I would be fined 500 baht.  Referenced here:

Report is 15 days before and 7 days late. As for numbers going to KCI I would say its down and has been that way for some time. Same for the crossing. Foreigners particulate farangs are not in the area.

Also you need a KR2 from the amphur. This basically says you are still married. regardless where you were married in Thailand this form can be obtained at any apmhur. Cost 20 baht. This can be obtained at KC amphur office next door to KCI.

I hope the op is on O visa..

Very true. If you go late your an overstayer and the fine and penalties will be quit hefty.
