I remember when I first came to Thailand I ended up going to see a girlfriends parents village out in the sticks, the visit was not only an eye opener as it was my first real contact with a poor rural community but while staying there I saw for the first time a battered old pick up arrive in the small village , in fact I heard the high pitched screaming and barking coming down the soi. When I ask the girlfriend what was going on , she just smiled and said in broken English its the bucket man . The bucket man gave you a plastic bucket or bowel for every dog you gave him .
The bucket man's pick up stopped near the house so I walked towards the pick up and saw for the first time , the horror of of caged dogs on their way to be killed and eaten.
I really hope and pray this campaign against the illegal dog meat trade in Thailand gets more and more media attention , the dog meat trade practice is barbaric and the worst form of cruelty humans could inflict on innocent animals
.
