do anyone knows how and where people can get the 2 x 30 days tourist visa near Nang Rong, in case i will need it.

You cannot get a tourist visa in Thailand. If you are referring to a visa exempt stamp then you will need to go to the border at Chong Chom, which is about 80kms from Nang Rong. You need to cross over the border to Cambodia and come back.

New rules state that this can only be done once.

If you actually want a tourist visa, which is 2x60 days, you will need to go to a Thai consulate. The best option is Savannakhet in Laos.

Sorry Starman, i was wrong its for a visa exempt 2 x 30 days like you say. And do they need some documents or not?

No documents. Only you, your passport and a passport size photo. You need to go to the border at Chong Chom. Stamp out of Thailand and get a visa on arrival in Cambodia (about 1100 baht). Then get stamped out of Cambodia and come back to Thailand. Can all be done in about 30 mins.

Like I said before, the new rules say you can only do this once. After that you must go to a Thai consulate and get a visa.

I would imagine they want a bit more now that the visa fee has gone from $20 to $30. Told me they wanted $35 a head for our tours.

If you just need another week or two you do not need to do a border hop. Immigration have increased the 7 days to 30 days that can be had at any immigration office. Korat immigration is closer to you. Also the OP did no state his/her nationality. The 30 day visa exempt at land crossing is only for Canadians, USA, UK, Germany, France, Italy and Japan.

Thanks Gotlost. I had forgotten about the increase to 30 days. I seemed to remember that the OP was from Belgium and I thought that country was included in the list of 30 day entries.

Would the OP be able to extend in Korat if his registered address in Nang Rong?

15 days only for a Belgium. The 30 days was given last year to the original G-7 members only. Yes Korat will give it to him IF they think he qualfies. The OP says he is still out of Thailand so  my question is to him is how is he going to flying Thailand looks to me on a oneway ticket. Most airlines will denide him boarding. Why not get a 60 day tourist visa, extendable for another 30 days. This way if he wants to fly on a one way ticket no problem and if he wants stay 60 or 90 days no problem.

I have twice entered Thailand on a one way ticket, in 2007 with Gulf Air (from Kuwait) and in 2011 on American (Japan Airlines from the US), both times I obtained a tourist visa with no questions from either immigration or the airlines.

I have flown Gulp Air also and I'm very aware of this polices. I been questioned by other carriers and seen this rule enforced. As said this is NOT an immigration issue but an airline.

Not an issue with me now as I have a multi entry permit.   I was just saying that the 2 times on 2 different airlines I did enter there were no questions.

This comes into play when a person fly's into Thailand with no visa and a mult entry permit is not a visa.
