What's happening
« on: July 03, 2014, 10:30:55 AM »
Me again, wondering about lack of information on this forum.
If I understood correctly, a Robinsobs'branch was being built near Thai Wasadu, opposite the Boonsiri project. I am now 'reliably' informed that Robinsons is actually being built on the road opposite Big C. (which has a big sign outside saying Line SME which is a builders merchant).
And what was that report about a big project in Buriram (I think Line SME) stealing land from rice farmers?
I posted about oil exploration going on in northern Buriram province, no answers yet and another report on TV about the locals there  protesting... about what?
Is the new bus terminal to be built near the football stadium or not?
Come on guys, there is more to life than sport and swapping insults in the (presently empty, no great loss) shout box.

Robinsons is now being built next to Hino. The original plan to build on the 226, not opposite Boonsiri but on the other side heading out to Surin, was scrapped.

The building going on opposite Boonsiri is, so I have been told, Global House.

The oil exploration I don't know about, although there was a rumour a while ago that they were going to start drilling near to Buriram airport.

Not sure how land can be "stolen" from rice farmers. If they have a chanote then they own the land. If they don't have a chanote then they will be protected as the land is officially "king's land".

I have mentioned before that I asked some bus operators about the relocation of the bus station. If it does happen they say the favoured location is near to the football stadium and race track. Which, incidentally, are both SPORTS.  ::)

What's happening.
Well Buriram United beat the old enemy yet again, and progress into the Semi Finals of the Toyota Cup.
Well done Buriram.

Hardly any need to be insulting when I was just simply making a response to your thread "What's Happening"
After all your previous statement did say "Come on guys, there is more to life than swapping insults"
Maybe you need to listen to yourself more in the future.
Have a nice day Davu.

Yes, and maybe because I asked him after getting no response here.
The big construction going on over the road fron the Boonsiri development is Global House apparently.
Simon: you seem to be completely lacking in a sense of humour. I used the word joke in my answer to myour thought provoking comment.

If I have misunderstood then I apologise, but get stuffed Simon seems to be somewhat direct.
But it's not a big issue Davu, let us move on and put it behind us.
The future is brighter.
Have a nice day. party4

Notice that they are putting new RR gates at the crossings.  Instead of the wire coming down now there are large bars that extend out and over.

This link quotes that Robinsons will be open April next year.

As I drive past the site of the new Robinsons most days I couldn't help but recently notice a lack of activity. I have also noticed that the "days remaining" number has been stuck on 149 for quite a while.

I found out yesterday that the current construction is sinking into the ground and all building has been stopped for now.

Members of the wife's family were killed during that Global House collapse in Surin. Apparently there was another building failure elsewhere. I wonder who the architect is? I didn't notice the 'days remaining' sign, I will look out for it.

There was a bit of activity at Robinsons today. All of the gates are still closed and nothing going in or coming out. There were a couple of cranes there today.

Looks like they were probably surveying the situation.

I believe the other building failure at Global House was in Mukdahan.

Yes it was Mukdahan that killed 8 and Global House in Chiang Mai about 2010 did a major Cheech and Chong to the ground.

I just can not stop laughing about this.  Land prices going up as we spoke to owners, yet the new construction site sinking.  I wonder who is holding those worthless notes now.... not me thank goodness.  I would love to see any updates.  Not on the BKK Post yet. crazydance

Not good news at all if that info is correct about it sinking.. I would be shopping in this mall all the time but now I'm worried about it collapsing.... So how do they stop it sinking and where the holes drilled deep enough from the start??
