Our steak and kidney pies, and most of our range, are 60 baht.

Specials, such as puddings (65baht) and pies with added stilton cheese (70 baht) are a little more.

Sorry Steve, I misread the website prices.

That makes yours 17 Baht/100g.

I get most of my pies, sausages, etc. from the Korat Chef. Definitely the best around in my opinion.

What do you recommend, Bart?

Their Jimmy Dean clone sausage is very good. On the pies the Minced Beef & Onion, Chicken and Vegetable and the Korat Chef Special are my favorites. Their Chili Con Carne and Pizza is good also.
Not the cheapest around but the best taste and quality in my opinion.

Bart have you tried Buriram Piemans pies?

If not then you should, so you can definitely tell us which pies are the best.

I've also had the jimmy dean sausages and yes they are good .
The living room bar / restaraunt stocks some of
Khorat chefs products .
But saying that 80% of the living room bars food is home made .
That's where I got to try the khorats chefs
Beef and gravy pie .
IMO 10 out of 10 .

I have had many of his pies along with Staffords pies also. All of them make a good pie but I think Korat Chefs are the best of the three. All three have good products.

I have tried both, and in my honest opinion the pies from Steve are the best.
The pastry is better, there is more filling, the meat is always lean and tender, and of course a lot cheaper.

To be honest the pastry from the Korat Chef is what makes it so good in my opinion.  Very buttery tasting. Maybe Steve has changed his pastry since I last had his. I found it to be bland compared to the others. Steves are definitely bigger and cheaper.

The beauty of this thread is that it will simply help pie sales.

Those that are pushing Korat Chef's products will not deter aficionados of Buriram Pies away from that product. Alan will never buy a Buriram pie, I doubt that Dave has tried one and Simon will not change from Steve's pies. Life goes on and now even more pies are available in Buriram - as I say, it squeezes out the likes of Staffords. Buriram is indeed fortunate to have such a choice - it had fook all when I first came here.

As always, I will try every product and the loser here (if indeed there is one) is Staffords. I will not change from eating Steve's pies but I will eat Korat pies over Staffords.

I agree with bart  about the pastry being the high point of the Korat pie. Frankly, the filling was no better than many pies from Nookie and nowhere near the content of Steve's.

Staffords is like the poem.

Old Mother Hubbard
Went to the cupboard,
To give the poor dog a bone;
When she came there,
The cupboard was bare,
And so the poor dog had none.

Always forking empty.

yes I agree Co-Co we're blessed to have  such a selection to choose from, and not just pies but a large selection of European foods.

Wrong there Ray. I have tried all three and they are all good. Recently,I probably have had more Starfoods pie's than the other two put together.  His Scotch Eggs are however, a personal favourite.

I think its a bit unfair to say by posting details of an alternative company that sells a varied range of foodstuff and not just pies, is 'PUSHING' a brand of pies IMHO.

If it not 'pushing' then I have to question what motive is behind the timing of such promotion.

Agree about the Scotch eggs - they are the best I have had in Thailand and at 3 for 100 Baht they are phenomenal value.
