True vision Satellite
« on: April 24, 2014, 08:23:55 PM »
Hey... Not only am I brand new to using forums but I am new to this forum having moved from Pattaya to Chompun Buri during March and living in a village 17kms from the town and joined Buriram Expats about a week ago

I have established a beaut Internet service via microwave [10Mbps down & 5Mbps up] for around 1K THB pm but I also want to get a good TV service and was wondering how I get a True Sat service. Not really interested in TCH [or whatever it is called - isn't that the main chemical in Wacky Baccy?] I want Australia Network, Universal , BBC. Our existing sat service is all Thai, Indian, Arabic no English channels. My wife tells me I have to drive to Surin about 2 hours away whereas Buriram is only 1 hours drive.

Anybody got some advise or can guide me to the right forum place as I am certain this is not a unique question/challenge

Cheers

Maybe you should talk to a company called PSI in Buriram. They will install any kind of dish for you, the programs are still rubbish though.

Thanks. There is a PSI in Chumpon as well [they seem to be everywhere now days] but I thought they only did CTH. I'll go in this morning. I can put up with a bit of rubbish provided I can get BBC, Aljashira & Australia net so I can listen to some English.

Its great to see that the Australian Network is still showing "Home and Away"

Its just a pity they dropped the rugby league (NRL) a few years ago  :(

Gotlost - I am certain True has what I need it's just a matter of getting it connected!! I am about to go to Chumpon Buri, if no luck I'll go to Satuek and if still no success I'll try Buriram. I assume there is a True office in Buriram. I'll check their website/s

You can go to 2 True shops in Buriram now,one in the Trewit centre and the other in the BigC centre, have you up within 2 or 3 days,1000Baht to start and 499Baht a month, inc the Aussie channel, and some sports, also you have about 6 to8 channels you can change to english on the remote controls.

By the way,I'm about 50ks from Buriram, and up in 2 days,so you shouldn't have any probs, get the Wife or Girlfriend to stick it on,and you will get billed monthly.Step daughter showed me how to change channels to English,so I felt like an idiot of the first order!

Thanks for that JasonB
I got nowhere with PSI in Chumpon Buri so I think I'll just go straight to True in Buriram tomorrow. Don't think I'll bother with Satuek.
Must admit I emailed True today and at least I got an acknowledgement but no action so far. They advised they would "pass my enquiry on"!!

Mai pen rai maaaate! I understand. Maybe I'll be ready for next weekend's AFL & NRL although I am streaming fantastically over the internet but I'd just like to hear some English TV!!!!!
When you say you are 50kms from Buriram - in which direction? Coz I'm only 93kms . 29kms after Satuek. In fact I am closer to Buriram airport than Buriram city but am in Surin Province.
