Transfering Data From PC to Tablet?

Is anyone here up to speed on transferring data (kids games) from a PC to an Android Tablet ?

Obviously I am aware that the download to the PC has to be for an Android Tablet platform ....

Its after that that I am running into trouble

I can not get anything to run on the Tablet.

I have tried a direct download to the Tablet via wi-fi but ended up with a heap of unwanted "installers" as well as Google shop !!!

Ideas and help appreciated
