Changing over to Non "O"

Has anyone got first hand knowledge of someone who has converted a tourist visa to a Non "O" visa in country, preferably in Kap Cheong.

Thanks

I was told by KCI that they would convert a 60 day tourist visa over. Another forum member had a triple entry and he was made to go to Bangkok. The only way for sure is to go into KCI with all documents and give it ago. I'm  convinced that KCI will convert a single entry tourist visa but not a double or triple.

Starman.

Would you be better off asking this question in a bigger forum like Thaivisa?

Just returned from Khap Choeng Immigration and they informed me if conversion over to retirement YES. If conversion to marriage NO has to go to BK. Hope this info helps.

Would anyone know if it's still possible to obtain a Non O in Lao without showing another bank or pension details.

Yes, me.  However it was at Korat.

My advice is that if someone is planning/wanting to do that, don't wait, do it ASAP.  I only had 7 days left when I tried and ran into a lot of issues.  But understand that if I had about 21 days left on my tourist visa it would have been easier.

Have a friend convert a 30 day visa exempt with only 9 days left over to an O for retirement at KCI no problems. Also his letter from the bank for verification of funds was 6 days old and it was accepted.

In that case I would start with 1000 baht in the tip b box.
