Well the land I was going to show you is being filled with dirt as we speak, I can see it from my house (it is not rice paddy).

The guy was asking 800K baht for less than a rai, but he is not sure what he is going to ask with all the dirt added.  He is paying 330 bhat a truckload, not sure how many trucks yet.

Assuming those are 5m trucks a rai will take about 333 loads. +-

Gotlost, with all respect, you have no idea,HOW much fill is required to raise it,ie. how far below the road is it...half metre, one metre etc, maybe Urleft can advise on that.

We raised land well over a rai with 270 loads.

On this other land, we live in a village, which means your business is everone's elses business.  So we will know how many trucks he brings in, I would guess about 100.

If I am right here - Thai's buy the land in the poorest part of Thailand for 30 - 50K and then sell it on to some gullible farang (usually with the aid of the wife's family).

No wonder all Thais think foreigners are mugs - come on wake up.

No you are not. Thai to Thai 100k plus per rai on rice land. The lot that urleft is talking about can go for upwards of 1 million Thai to Thai.

1 million a rai - are you serious - most Thais don't even earn 10k a month - unless they are married to a farang.  Wow it's more expensive than on the coast.  Must be picturesque, the buffalo or the mosquitos - who knows.

My TW's Aunt sold 1 rai for 5 million baht 8 months ago.  Of course it being prime land with frontage on a 4 lane, plus being a missing corner for a Thai land baron helped.
