Buying a Vehicle Battery

Length of service on a car battery will very. You may get that 4, 5 or 6 years BUT be aware and the following is is taken from one of the leading Thai manufactures website.

What is the warranty period on a Yuasa battery?
 

Yuasa Battery, Inc. does not handle warranty issues directly. All inquiries should be directed to the dealer where the battery was purchased. The dealer's distributor sets the warranty period and handles all warranty claims. The warranty time frame is not specified by Yuasa, but the majority of the distributors give 6 months free replacement, provided the customer has dated proof of purchase.
6 months???WTF.
Exide one of the leading manufacture in the USA on some batteries give up to a 9 year warranty.

That 6 months that Yuasa quotes is typical for Thailand. BEWARE. After 3 years your on borrowed time.

Hi..it is recommended to buy any battery by the CCA..or Cold Cranking AMPS..the more CCA the higher cost.
A Cheap$50  battery has around 280 to 320 CCA..

There have been a few indicators on where to buy a new battery on this thread ,so that should give them a good  jump-start

But I have been alternating on the battery everlast and inside duracel.

I was charged with assault on batterys

Well a dozen volts aligned with direct current events caused discharge issues, however I was able to jump start the project.

The problem with the link is that it is basically US, talking about Walmart and Optima.  If I was in the states, it would be very easy, just drive up to an Advanced Auto, Walmart, Autozone, etc, and get a near top of the line maintenance free battery for about 3000 baht.  Unfortunately I have not seen any of these stores in Thailand, or even a clone of one.   

Which is why I started the thread in the hope that I had just missed the right store. 

I think the summation is that TIT, live with a 3 year battery and be happy, check the water.

Hi ... the info I posted was about CCA ( Cold Cranking Amps)..Identify what your vehicle should have.
Ford Ranger 760 CCA battery..
Hence, the link to Ford Ranger Forum, where people have used different batteries.

So, maybe to you, its of no use in Thailand, with the right size (CCA) battery for your vehicle, you won't be stuck on the side of the road with a dead battery.
