What a pleasant surprise to see my family store on your forum.  This week June 18 to June 23 a top notch DeWALT Power Tools and Stanley Tool representative is in the front of our Hardware Store. If you own a Stanley or DeWALT Power tool and would like a free minor service or "tune up" while you wait, please bring it to my store. We of course do normal warranty and out of warranty repairs for many name brand power tools, lawn mowers, but this is a great week for DeWALT and Stanley Power Tool owners.  Normal tool repairs, water pump repairs, lawn mower repairs, generally take 24 hours. We are located on Highway 2074, five minutes from the Buriram Private Hospital, very near I.C.E. Furniture Location #2, and directly across the street from the Buriram PEA four story office building.  Please ask for me if you visit our store and I can assist you in English or Thai language.

I went there this morning and I was impressed by the selection of tools, machines and materials that I saw there, I will go back, I saw stuff I haven't seen anywhere else up to now.
However, we were constantly followed around and when I asked about the difference between different kinds of filtering mediums was pestered to buy ('why you ask if you don't want to buy?'.  I hate this rude stuff). They will come to know me with time I guess, I even got the IQ staff trained eventually.

Davu:  I traveled this morning between the new larger Ruangsangthai on Highway 2074 across from the Buriram PEA electric office building, and our original downtown Buriram location with the "Police Hat | police Box" in front of the corner store.  I did speak with three different expats this morning at my larger store. One of the expats came into my store with his Thai wife.  I recently paid an expat who lives in Buriram to conduct English lessons in our "store classroom" for some of my sales staff.  "why you ask if you don't want to buy?'. was NOT on the suggested English language phrases I can assure you.

I will speak with ALL of my staff and pass on your VALUABLE tip on what NOT to have my staff communicate in Thai language or English language EVER, to a customer.  Yes that "fine line" between helpfulness and pestering, especially if the staff person is not confident of their English language skills.

I do hope that you will telephone me in advance 089-844-9680 and that I can meet you in person and answer any and all of your questions at my store. I do have some experience with water filters and I do hope that you will give me the opportunity to serve you.  Thank you for posting your shopping experience, even if a staff person was NOT communicating the "store policy of customer comes first".  Our entire staff will start on Monday morning with a renewed focus on "customer service".

I have used this store to buy some  items (about 20000 bath altogether) and I am quite satisfied. I guess if you go there unprepared you should rely on the staff or at least listen to them and come back better prepared. They are OK but you must know what you want or you better go to HOME PRO.

Hi Pichai,
it probably was you that said hello to me when I came in with my wife, we said we just wanted to look around and the person we talked to was happy with that.
The sales person pestered us a little bit after I asked about the filter stuff, makes you shy about asking questions.
Thanks for your feedback, that is definitely the way to do it!
Will be back for sure.

Hats off and well done to Pichai for not only joining this forum, but also keeping us abreast of promotions / specials / demos in Ruangsangthai.

Considering that we expats would make up less than 1% of his customer base, the time he spends on BE (and the precise answers given to members) is a clear indication of his commitment to good service to everyone.

I have actual knowledge of Pichai working with someone to fix a problem.

Pichai sent his workman in with filters, tanks, pumps, etc., and did not fix the problem.

Pichai then got the water samples and sent them to Bangkok for analyses.

Based on the analyses, the water was fixed.  Pichai refused payment until the problem the fixed.

This is the type of business I want to work with, Pichai has an American attitude to get it right.

And I am going to put my money where my mouth is.  Will see you soon Pichai.

Disclaimer:  I have no business, family, other interests with Pichai (yet).  Based on what I have seen he may get a good portion of my next building.

Thank you all for your useful comments and I am very open to suggestions on items to stock at my store.  I am always curious to which installation and repair services are needed by the Expat Community of Buriram.

Side note, we have two "teams' who do the majority of the water pump installations for our customers. Two teams also work on septic tank installations. Many of you may have seen our "little blue water tank" installation this weekend at Taweekij Super Center.  The two 30,000 liter WATER tanks are placed in proper housing in the ground to store clean water needs for just part of this shopping center. You need NOT be a facebook member to see the photos taken yesterday at Taweekij Shopping Center on this page.

This is a better link to photos from this past weekend at Taweekij Super Center in Buriram.  I'll post more photos when this installation of two 30,000 liter clean water storage tanks is 100% complete.

Q-con   Super Block  and Smart Block are similar AAC blocks available in Buriram in standard sizes and also larger sections. We often order standard sizes depending on the architect, building plans or local builders specs.  Perhaps you will want one thickness for your exterior walls and a different block thickness for interior walls.  Selling Q-Con or Super Block or Smart block by the pallet can obtain a lower net price to you. Factory direct shipments are also possible.  Please consider coming to my store with your building plans so my engineer can help you figure really how many blocks you would need for your project. Perhaps you already know.  We only have eight pallet loads of Q-Con in the store today, but depending on your needs and the final delivered price, we can quote you a factory direct delivery price for a larger order.  We offer the proper rendering tools and materials at very attractive prices.  6 different thickness of the standard 20cm by 60cm blocks.  AAC blocks are in the mandated specs for several University Buildings my firm has built in 2011, 2012 and 2013.  You might speak with your architect regarding the thermal properties of the thicker AAC blocks for exterior walls, such as the 10cm or 12.5cm or even 15cm  and consider 7.5cm for interior walls of your new home.  Stop by Home Mart, Thai Watsadu, HomePro, Global House or Home Mega Mart for their suggestions and written delivered price so that when we meet you will know if I truly am offering you the lowest delivered price on the blocks and the rendering materials.  Every building merchant sells one or more brands of these AAC blocks and I want to offer you the lowest delivered net price.  You can also PM me for a price quote once you know which thickness of the blocks is best for your situation and how many pallets you would need. QUESTION Can a semi truck with a trailer come to your building site OR are you building where access is a challenge for a large truck?  My delivery fleet of poorly painted trucks are in several sizes, we have winches on most delivery trucks, however factory direct delivery would entail a larger two trailer semi.

"Q-CON" lightweight concrete block can be used to build interior and exterior walls, load bearing walls, and non-load bearing walls. The dimension is 20x60 cm, each block. The thickness is in the range from 7.5 to 25 cm in 2.5 cm increments. To build 1 Sq.m. of wall, you will need only 8.33 "Q-CON" lightweight concrete block.

Q-CON lightweight concrete block
Thickness (cm)   Width x Length (cm)   Pcs./m2   Kg/m2   Pcs./Pallet
                7.5   20 x      60            8.33            46.5          200
               10.0   20 x      60                   8.33            62.0          150
               12.5   20 x      60                   8.33            77.5          120
               15.0   20 x      60                   8.33            93.0          100
               20.0   20 x      60                   8.33          127.0           70
               25.0   20 x      60                   8.33          155.0           40
