Security window Bars
« on: August 17, 2013, 08:01:15 AM »
I need wrought iron security bars at my windows.  Would someone on the forum suggest a shop in Buriram City.

I do know of one in Buriram and have used them twice. Very happy with the results and pricing.

However, its a small 2 man outfit and I had to wait about 3 weeks for the delivery and installation.

If you can wait that long I can give you contact / direction details (they are inside Buriram an the same road as Paddys) if not, just have a drive around the  periphery of the Town center and you will find about 100 of them.

We just had ours made locally, however, since he was very busy we started looking other places.  One place was just north of the Water Office on the bus station road across from the street entrance to BE.

It is surprising cheap.  So maybe look at designer type instead of just standard bars.

For things like that I usually go to my local hardware shop and the owner gets me a decent work crew, or suggests a shop that will do it... I have been happy with the results from re roofing to building gates... I'm down NDD way and it the Captain hardware. Just a thought

There is no way I would have Bar's on my windows,it would be like living in a prison.

I knew of one guy that had them fitted and they broke in through the roof.If someone wants to get in they will,a sledge hammer to any wall would work, especially the house's built out of those white Q-Con type blocks!!

Agree completely. And have discussions with my wife who claims I dont know about "thailand very dangerous".  swordfight
But: I STILL HATE (WINDOW)BARS. steamingMad
I try to tell her that with fitting  bars you tell all the local mafie that you have something valuable worth stealing inside.
And it dont look nice ! bravo1
And make trouble keeping windows clean !

She installed bars in windows in the house/shop she made for mother/daughter. Luckily still 2 years until I retire and we make our own house.
She put the bars on the inside, but Im pretty sure if the mob brings a slegdehammer it will be peace of cake passing. buttslap

Yeah right. You don't know much about construction, do you?

I am with Erik. The day I put up security bars on my windows is the day I leave for pastures new.

I can well recommend Ron and his wife Karlong (if your wife is doing the talking) from Ice Furniture.
Ron and his wife can action the job and co-ordinate the fitting
They will know a reliable steel welding shop that can make and install
And Ron can mange the job
So for those of us who are unfortunate and dont live in Buriram full time just yet. ICE furniture does provide
a great service
