If your on a 60 day Tourist Visa you can apply for an extension stay based on marriage at KCI, If you meet the financial requirements and this being you first time at KCI they want a certified copy of your Affirmation to Marry from your embassy. The work permit is not obtained at any immigration but at a labor office.

I do have the affirmation of freedom to marry somewhere so getting the non o is going to be my next move but was a little confused as it says i can only apply when i have a maximum of 30 days remaining on my existing stay is this correct ?

What are your credentials as a teacher Ban?

Work permits are not that difficult so long as you have the right paper work.

I know very little about it, but will still add my 2 cents (which is better than one BM (has not posted yet) here that adds his 10 cents especially when he know nothing about the subject).

I have a friend that is in the midst of trying to get a teaching visa.  He told me that the people he is working for will take him to get the visa as his sponsors.

You might check with some expat teachers about this.  But if you do go to KCI by yourself, make no mention that you have been working, only that you have an offer to work.  Working on other type visas can get you in trouble.

Has your passport been stamped 'Employment prohibited' or words to that effect? Most teacher I know go to a neighbouring countries Thai Embassy and get a 'B' visa after starting the process of obtaining a Work Permit at your local labour Office. Once you return with the correct visa, then the Labour Office issues your blue Work Permit book.

Hope that helps.

On an extension to stay based on marriage you can have a work permit. As for applying normally you do this when you start your t las30 days before the visa ends BUT I  personally seen KCI does this with little as 9 days remaining on a 30 day visa exempt. Just make sure that you have all your paper work/photos about the house/kr2/letter on money only 3 days old and THE WIFE with you.

To work in a govt school, I believe it a degree. Stevo will be able to confirm if other requirements are necessary.

You won't get a WP to teach without one BUT I know of several people up here teaching without a 'valid' degree.
T he only downside is,if you get caught its a hefty fine & deportation.
