Where can I get good exchange rate in Buriram?
« on: April 27, 2013, 08:48:16 AM »
Folks,

I need to exchange some money. I know that I could simply go to a bank outlets to exchange money, but as we know the rate could from private operators could be better than banks.

Does anyone know any place in Buriram where I could get better rate than bank?

Cheers

Kasikorn is on same boat too. Funny thing is that 4 years ago we only had Kasikorn bank and Krung Thai in Prakhonchai. This has changed slightly by opening of 2 more banks now.

I could not find Thanachart bank in Buriram as they seem to be 2nd best.

Bangkok Bank is offering 44.64=1 Pound.

Not great but going in the right direction.

Best it's been for months.

Yes. Baht has been getting stronger for quite some time and will remain same for coming times till Bank of Thailand wakes up to realise it's impact on export and rise of industrialisation in neighbouring countries like Vietnam. On other side, China has started to export cheaper products and the rail line will further expedite that. This will make trading to be a better opportunity than production. 3 factors put together will change Thailand's industrial and business landscape.

Yes i agree maybe one day Thailand will realize it needs to get up off it's lazy ass and join in with the rest of the world, when that day will come nobody knows.
