Tops has BBQ sauce on clearance again.  I believe I bought the last 4 bottles of night of the living bbq, but there might be more.  However, the cowtown is still in stock.  Also just next to BBQ sauce (across from the meat counter) are more.

There is a high probability that I will be cooking ribs next week as I will be baching it (TW going to Temple).  Probably on 3 March.

Anyone want an invite?

Will be glad to have you.  Charles went back to the USA yesterday so he won't be there.

OK, I have Mike, Steve, Scott, Joe, and Sam wanting to join.  Which is about a 5 slabs, the limit of my grill.  However, if more want to join, I may make 2 sets.

Also plan to have cheese dip and french fries.

That grill at Urleft looks like the high quality BBQ's made by Mr. Doc in Udon. I've yet to see a commercial BBQ wholesale that would meet the quality standards of that BBQ brand.

Is that a gas grill or charcoal?

In the photo if you look at the far left you can see the gas can.

Only asking as I find that a true BBQ, indirect heat from charcoal or wood burning, gives the meat a better flavour.

I guess it's also about preparation and the BBQ sauce.

I actually agree with you and would rather use Charcoal, which is how I did most of my cooking in the USA.  But getting good quality charcoal around here is kind of cost prohibitive.

I have been fairly pleased with the performance of Doc's grill, once I learned how best to set the heat.  It is looking like I will need to cook more than 5 slabs as I just got 2 more committments, so I am debating whether to fire up the charcoal grill at the same time, kind do a cook off.

BTW, here's Doc's website if you're interested:   http://quik-fire.com/

Some of the locals in the village where I live make and sell charcoal for a living.

The charcoal sold in sacks that you see by the side of the road are good and cheap. A really good heat is produced.

My oil drum BBQ comes with a lid too so even better.
